I had been looking for a job for months after I had been a stay at home mom. We really needed to add to our income and I don't make a lot doing Avon. No one wanted to hire me because I hadn't worked in 4 years except for some temp work. The owner of the auto shop met me and hired me on the spot. It didn't hurt that it was his other bookkeeper's last day! He was desparate and so was I. But it turned out to be a great fit so far.

I just took a new job that has LESS flexibility than my old one, but it's much much much closer to home. Less in gas. Less in time spent commuting. More stress. More work. I won't know until September what the tradeoff is.

Flexibility! I am ending a four month leave and heading back to work in a few weeks. I had intended to look externally for a new job, but my existing company offered me several positions that were interesting at either three or four days/week. I think that I could find another job easily with my background and skills - but finding something with that type of schedule that would not feel like a step back would be hard.
I became an entrepreneur for the flexibility and autonomy.

Then I had an amazing experience with a career coach and was drawn to the coaching field. I chose to become a small business coach because I'm really passionate about learning about other entrepreneurial ventures and then sharing my knowledge to help others succeed.

So now I'm following a passion and enjoying flexibility!
