Ticks and our kids! We were at a party yesterday and when we got home, we did our tick check and I found 2 tiny ticks making their way under the skin of my 4yr old. Anyone else deal with this? We are in CT ( lyme disease central!) My hubby has it and did not know it until 3 years passed. Needless to say, his health will suffer for the rest of his life. I am so scared for our kids! We have the yard sprayed, but cannot protect them when we go other places. Now these ticks were only on him for max 3hrs. Should I worry? Do you think he can be infected in this short of time? The tick was a baby, the size of this font. o . My son did have a tick last year that was there and engoreged, and he had to go on antibotics for it. I am kind of freaked. Anyway, looking for others with Lyme, tick stories. Thanks for listening

Hmm. To allay your fears, you might want to look for advice on a medical site like WebMD/call your doc. Personally, I don't actually worry about it that much. I agree it's a concern, though. I've never had one latch onto me, but have had them crawling on me many times - shudder - and on my dogs. Ugh. They are the MOST DISGUSTING things in the whole world. Except for the giant cockroaches. Anyway, I just practice prevention - I never go out in the garden or hiking in the woods/grass without long pants, socks and shoes. As for your son, I would _think_ that if the ticks hadn't latched onto him, he's unlikely to have been infected. But I'm no expert. Why not give your doctor a call, just to put your mind at rest. Let us know what they say! :)

PS that's terrible that your husband got Lyme disease.
