We use a home daycare, and it is $130 per week. ONce my daughter is 1, it will be $110. I figure until she hits the 3-4 year mark, a home daycare is the safest, nicest environment for her.

We have just started using a nanny. We found a single mother who needed a place to stay for her and her two young daughters. In exchange for her taking care of our son during the summer and before/after school during the workweek in the fall, we pay her $600/month and give her two rooms, a private bathroom, food, cell phone and a gas allowance. This works out great for us. I'm in law school at night and it's such a relief to come home to a clean house and a bathed child ready for bed instead of to several hours of household chores.
