I have made a few simple changes at home and it has made a big difference for me. I want to help others do the same thing, and by doing so I earn an income while at home with my 3 year old. There is nothing more rewarding then being able to earn money for helping other people make a difference in their lives. So message me amomfirst@gmail.com and I would love to share with you what i do at home that truly feeds my spirit. It may be of interest to you and you may know others who would be interested too.

I am involved in a business where the products are ECO-Safe for your household. They are Great. I have allergies and grandchildren and it was the best thing I did for my house. It knda works like buying a membershio to Sam's club and then yu can shop. But with this business you purchase the producst you need for your home that you would buy anyway in the grocery store and then spread the word. Not Hard the products speak for themselves. They do not have all the corrosives in them that harm our clothing, children, homes, ourselves, etc. You can check out my site http://www.themomteam.com/dmhinsch
They have training that involves conference calls from all over the country, so you pick up on new ideas fort he products.

I have my own onine business. It's called SpokaneMama.com. It's a resource for mothers and families in the Inland Northwest. I love working from home. Though I can't wait till I can afford to purchase a laptop. I get tired of sitting in my basement. It will be heaven when I can run the business sitting in Starbucks sipping on my favorite beverage!

I have my own business; a website services company (www.websmithgroup.com). I love the flexibility in managing my work schedule. However, the flexibility does have constraints - especially when working with multiple clients and managing several employees and/or subcontrators.

I've also had great experiences working for organizations that support flexible working arrangements. I would say that most of my corporate work experience (post college) allowed some level of flexibility.

Yes--I started a company 5 years ago helping people get organized www.clutterbusters.com . I love having the flexibilty of working from home, having more time with my kids and not having a regular schedule. I would never go back to corporate America!!

Absolutely... although the more I work, the more I make - I have also put in place services/products that produce a 'passive income'. My business includes a few membership sites that provide a weekly report. Combined, the reports take me about 4-5 hours a week to complete... I can go on vacation and hire a VA to complete the reports for me and I still get paid. Subscription payments come in every day - it's great! However, if I only put in those 4-5 hours a week, my business will not aggressively grow. I spend a lot of time researching, learning and creating new information products to help position myself as an expert in my market - but, I can do all of that at 2am if I want.

In response to your question, I have found the best way to balance work and home life by starting my own home-based business with Arbonne this past fall. I now choose how to spend my time each day. I wake up excited to start the day instead of dreading the mornings, a long commute and the rush of getting out of the house. More importantly, I now play more of an active role in the children’s lives, but I also have a home based business in which I control the level of success I want to achieve. I am blessed to now be able to volunteer, work out more often, sleep longer, and pursue more of my own interests. And -- It is priceless to not be the last one to pick up the kids at day care. I was reminded of how my life has changed and how much I appreciate my new flexibility when my son was in the hospital a couple weeks ago. I remember being in the hospital with him and grateful to not have to call a boss to explain what was going on and having to reschedule a ton of meetings/deadlines. All that mattered was my son and our family.

I loved my previous corporate marketing career, but I grew tired of working 60+ hours a week and feeling guilty for not being as present at work and even more guilty not being there for my kids. I knew I would never get this precious time back with my kids so I searched for a Plan B. With Arbonne, I have a fun job that allows me to help other people feel good about themselves, spend more time with my family, plus -- I am now an entrepreneur and I can work when I want to work. Don't get me wrong, I definitely work and am committed to building this business throughout New England. But I work around my schedule now. I opened my eyes to this opportunity and found a legitimate business that attracts professional, talented, hard working, and personable people. Now I am in control of my life, working 10 - 20 hours a week and growing a business that will replace my corporate salary within a couple years! Not bad.

Well, in a way. I am freelance PR/marketing consultant/writer. I have a hard time calling it a business since it is just me and I have no plans to expand really. I wil say that it gives me a lot of flexibility in the traditional sense - I work from home, pick and choose projects, etc. There is a flip side though. At the end of the day, it is just ME. If my daughter or I get sick, I can't turn in a project late that was promised by a certain deadline and I certainly can't pass it off to anyone else. At my prior position, I had a whole team of folks that supported me and I could delegate when necessary. So more flexible - yes. But I think a lot of peope forget about the fact that they have much less back-up when they are on their own.

Yes, I have my own business and I certainly have all of the flexibility I need. I'm in a total niche market - I'm a professional voice talent (www.dandysound.com) - so I can voice and do paperwork when the kids are asleep or mellow or whatnot. However, without proper work hours I can't contact new clients, can't speak to people on the phone and have a horrible time organizing. Right now I'm in a tough spot b/c it's gotten really difficult to juggle everything. I love that I can work from home. I love that I have a very unique talent. I love that I'm with my kids all of the time and hubby as much as possible. BUT if don't work, I don't get paid. If I don't bring in new clients I don't broaden my pay base. I didn't take maternity leave after both births b/c there was no need to. I use my voice. HELLO, I had more room in my lungs after both kids were born so I was back in top form. So yes, I work for myself and yes I have more flexibility but now it's time to assess and figure out how to make it all work and what I need to do to make that happen. Does that make sense?

I have my own business, I work full time. The full time hours are scheduled around life, kids. I do work my business every day - short sacrifice for long term reward.

I have my own business and I work for someone else. But I'm not very flexible on either because for me to make my business work, I have to treat it like it is a job, not a hobby. So I don't take too much time off and I do expect to work on my business each day.

Certainly though, it terms of holidays and days off, I have the flexibility to say "nope, I'm not going to work from December 15 - Jan 2" whereas my regular job still needs me there.
