Are there any wine lovers out there? Do you have a glass every night? How does your partner feel about that?

I would love to, but I'm still breast-feeding and I'm paranoid that any alcohol will affect my little guy, even though the doctor says it won't. I've had a couple glasses so far, but I'm uncomfortable with having more.
I love wine. I usually try to have a glass a night. I actually need to go shopping again :) My husband doesnt care at this point.
Either beer or wine at the end of the day is nice. I don't have one everyday but a couple of times a week I'll have one drink. I can't really have more than one anymore unless I eat a whole lot because I'm a total lightweight.
Thanks Victoria, thats good stuff.
I absolutely love wine... I love trying new ones all the time... from different regions, vintages, etc... but I don't get to drink wine every night :( I probably have a glass of wine couple times a week... I'm having one now :)) My husband doesn't drink but fully supports my love for wine... I only have 1-2 glasses... I think it's fabulous!!!
Thanks for sharing ,Ladies. My husband does not drink. He comments about my love of wine. We'll see. I am responsible and don't go over my limit.
My 14 year old son does not seem too intersted in tasting it. I have offered so that he would not try it outside our home for the first time. He does not seem too thrilled with it.

I was raised in a house were dad was a big beer drinker and mom only had an old fashioned if we went out with our 'hoity toity' uncle and maybe a creme de menth at Christmas. I followed dad's footsteps as a young adult, then dated a recovered alcoholic for 5 years, who had no problem with me drinking or going to bars - he always drank soda. Then finally I married an old world European. Alcohol is viewed differently in europe. Both my husband and I drink socially and at home - not every night but if we want a beer, or glass of wine or scotch, etc we have one, don't really view it a lot differently then having a glass of iced tea.
I am hopeful that as my son grows ,its commonplace existance in our lifves, will help him learn to handle it responsibly and in moderation.

I *love* to have a glass of wine at the end of a long day. It really helps me to relax. Alas, I think that in order to save my disappearing waistline, I'm going to have to give up this daily pleasure for a while. :( It will be an occasional treat instead! But, yes, I like wine. I'm not a big drinker, though. It's 1 glass, sometimes 2, tops. I strongly favor reds over whites, too. My husband sometimes joins me, but he's a beer guy. Usually, if one of us has a drink w. dinner, so does the other one. If one of us isn't in the mood for a drink, the other skips it, too. I'm not fussy about what I try. I buy inexpensive supermarket wines, which I gather is not a source of shame these days. :)
My husband is a craft beer lover. For those not familiar, craft beer is to, say, Bud/Miller as fine wine is to the really really cheap stuff. He drinks it for the taste, not to get buzzed. No surprise: there's a community out there (online & other) of craft beer fans like him, and they keep each other informed about where to find the good stuff, what new stuff is coming out, etc. He drinks 1 or 2 just about every evening at home. I consider him a very responsible drinker. In fact, drinking a fair amount causes gastrointestinal angst, so even if he wanted to, he would pay the consequences. I know that hangovers aren't enough to keep some from drinking to excess, but his G/I issues are enough for him. What's funny is this: it's like a hobby for him, and sometimes he talks ad nauseum about it. LOL But mostly I'm totally okay with this. He doesn't really drink "to wind down" or relax; if he did, that would make me nervous, if he started to "need" it. But it does give him pleasure and he's responsible about it, so.... - Paula.
