I`ve never hired one, but I have actually worked with people to get them organized (weird, since in my own home, I`m totally NOT organized). Basically, what I did was clean the house, organize stuff into boxes and folders and set aside anything I thought should go, for the owner to decide. Then I would do a rundown of everything I`d changed so they wouldn`t be totally lost.

This wasn`t a professional job, either, btw . . . a woman I babysat for asked if I would tackle her chaotic house while she took the kids out for a day. :) She liked it so much that she told her friends and I ended up organizing a bunch of houses!

Hi... This is exactly what we do, as you wrote " I want someone to work *with* me and be kind". Everyone has their own way of remembering things and we help you find "your way" and "your system". We also actually do the work to get you to a clean slate - some services will not actually do the work. They just give you "consult" and you are on your own.
