  • My son is in bed by 8pm during the week and most weekends. He can't make it much past that. It takes him about 1/2 hour to fall asleep after I put him down. I would love to make it earlier because he's tired around 7pm but his dad doesn't get home until 7:30pm.

  • my son is 2 and we start bedtime at 8pm. i am more strict with this than dad! this is the start of the bath/jammies/books ritual so he usually is laying in his bed by 8:45 and will soemtimes fall asleep in 10 minutes and other times he is up until 10pm! But he usually wakes up anywhere from 7:30 - 8:30 so it's nice on weekends :)

  • My 10 year old and 5 year old are in bed by 9 - 9:30pm on school nights and wake up at 6:45am.
My 2 year old twins are always in bed by 8:30-9pm and wake up by 7am.
My oldest is the only one who can actually stay up past 10pm, the younger ones fall asleep by 9:30pm no matter what day it is, so I let him stay up on weekends and vacations.
This is realistic for us because I work full time. I get out at 5:30-6pm then pick everyone up from daycare/afterschool care, we go to the gym for 2 hours - they go to the playroom while I work out then I take them swimming after for about 30 minutes, we get home by 8pm, eat dinner, everyone showers and goes to bed.
    Hope this helps, Dez

  • My boys (10 & 8) have to be in bed by 9:00pm and they get 30 minutes of TV time then lights out. On the weekends I'll let have Friday night as a night to stay up late and sometimes Saturdays. My oldest however would stay up to midnight if I let him.

  • Wow, it is almost impossible to get my 7-year-old daughter near her bed before 9:00 pm and even then she's usually awake until 10:00 pm. She gets up every morning at 7:00 and gets ready for school, so maybe she just needs less sleep.

  • My 8 yr-old son has an 8:30 pm bedtime. He's had that a while now, and it works for him.

  • I'm super strict on bedtimes during the school year (more lenient in summer.) My daughter is 5, she is in bed with the light out by 8 p.m. My 8-year-old son can read until 8:30 p.m.

  • 8:00 every night. My 15 month old is usually ready for bed by then. I ask him a few times if he's almost ready for bed and he will start saying either ba-bye or nigh-night and head for the stairs to up to his room. I am enjoying it while I can, as I'm sure he'll change his tune at some point.

  • Our 6 month old can't make it much past 7:30, and we aim to have the 4-yr-old in bed by 8:30 at the latest. (bath, stories, bouncing around throwing dirty laundry on the floor, etc -- the "bedtime routine") starts approx 7:30. :)
