My 6 week old cries, hard, every time she is in her car seat. My first child always slept in the car seat so I am totally at a loss of what to do! Any suggestions? Will she ever get used to it?

It took me at least 9 months to be able to drive further then 30 minutes while she was awake. Otherwise she cried the entire time.
I would just try to make sure it seems comfortable for her. Check to make sure the seat is at a comfortable angle and that she's sitting in it properly. You might want to try putting a nice comfortable blanket on either side of her. We had to stop using our one seat because our daughter did this but another style worked well. It's just like picking out seats for adults, each one fits your body differently. I hope she doesn't get car sick. Best of luck figuring it out. Little ones are like living puzzles.
Oh, I can so relate. This was our daughter. We had no idea what to do, nothing helped. When she turned 1 she started throwing up in the car and we figured out she was getting car sick. At 2 we were able to give her some medication to help out and she now does ok, although we really can't go anywhere for a long ride if we don't give her some anti car sick medication.

I am not sure what I can offer in terms of tips for this age, just know that you're not alone. All our friends had kids who would just fall asleep in the car and they never understood how our little one would just cry... it was really hard, hang in there.
