Wake at 5:45. Get baby's breakfast and bottle ready. Wake and change baby. Feed baby until about 6:30. Somtimes my 3 yr old wakes before then. If so, she gets breakfast then. If not, I wake her at 6:30 and my husband takes over with the kids. Then I brush teeth, shower, dress, do my hair all by 6:50-ish. Then we finish getting kids dressed and ready to leave. Hopefully I am out of the house by 7:10 at the latest. My commute ranges from an hour to 1.5 hours (2 hours if there is an accident, snow, rain, sun glare, etc.).

On a normal school day, I spend about 90 minutes getting myself and my son ready. I wake up around 6:00 and take a shower. Then, I wake my son up. Next, I go downstairs and let the dog out, make lunch for myself and my son, and eat breakfast while I watch the news. Ideally, my husband gets up and gives my son chocolate milk at this time. I go back upstairs at 7:00 and get dressed and do hair and make-up. At 7:25, my husband and I walk my son to meet his bus, and I leave shortly afterward. Now that I have a baby, I am sure that our routine will have to be modified!

Depends on what you consider the "routine". I get up 5:30ish and get dressed immediately in clothes I've set out the night before, brush my hair, brush my teeth, grab the laundry basket and toss in a load. This all takes about 15 minutes. My working day starts at 7:45.

In between 5:45 and 7:45? I take an hour of me-time: reading, facial cleansing, maybe even a pedicure. I answer emails. I might write a blog post. Sometimes I go for a walk.

I don't: make my kids' lunches (they've made their own since they were nine); get my family out of bed (it's their responsibility to get themselves to where they're going; they take the consequences if they don't); make breakfast (everyone makes their own, according to their own timetable).

I do: sit with my kids when they eat, and chat about their days. Kiss my husband goodbye! I work from home, so my clients come to me. No commute, for which I am very grateful.

The short story? My personal prep. time takes 15 minutes. (I shower in the afternoons, not the morning. We have only the one bathroom, and I don't want to wake people up as early as I wake, nor plug up an already busy room at prime time.)

Approximately 1 hour. Shower, Hair, sometimes Makeup, Clothes. That's the first 30 minutes. The other 30 is running around trying to get my husband and kid ready!

hmm, I am out the door in about 30 minutes - shower, dress, coffee, flick on mascara and run..although coffee and run are usually combined! Some mornings I work out, so that adds an hour..and most mornings I get up early enough to hang with my son for a bit-we like to snuggle on the couch, and then I get ready. My husband is in charge of mornings..he's a morning person and I'm not so that helps alot.

I am pretty quick. 10 minutes for shower and hair - well, I have such short hair that it literally takes a minute with some moose. 10 minutes for makeup and clothes. That's my max. On weekends when my husband is here watching our little one I'll do a quick mask, so that adds 5 minutes. But that's tops for me.
