Anyone do a flex schedule from 6:30 to 3:30? (I'm sure someone will say yes!) Does it work for you? What are the best and worst things about it? I'm considering it.”
I have worked this schedule (give or take 20 minutes) for a little over a year now. Going home this early is awesome...my son (15 months) goes to be pretty late these days so I feel like we have a lot of time to play, bond, nurse, do chores, etc. The worst thing is getting out of bed that early--my morning routine can be crammed down to 5 minutes if needed. The best thing is going home in the middle of winter while it is still daylight outside. Good luck!
I've done it two days now! I decided on Tuesdays/Thusdays and so far it's going well. A little tip! I bring my makeup with me and put it on at my desk while the computer is booting up! No one else is here to see me, and it reduces the rush at home. :)
Hi,
I love flex schedule, when you have busy mornings at home you don't have to worry about being late at work. Some days I will be in at 7am or at 9am that is the latest.
I think it would be wonderful, you would just have to be a pretty early morning person to be up and at work by 6:30. I work three 7 hour days and work 9-4:30. I hated getting out of work at 5, fighting traffic and then having two kids to pick up and being home at 6:30 (I have a 45 minute commute). As long as your husband can drop off at daycare in the morning I think it would be an ideal schedule since you will have more time in the evening. My husband travels quite a bit, so I have to have my schedule set up so that I can drop off at school and pick up from afterschool programs all myself.
I'm assuming you means 0630 - 1530 time-wise. I did that for ever and a day until my daughter started daycare and my husband went back to work. I miss it sooooo much. I could be home by 4 pm, have time to relax, miss out on the afternoon rush hour...it was so nice.
Now, we don't get home until 6 pm, battling traffic both ways. Our evenings are harried and rushed and basically, my quality time at work and at home is gone.
