I think that maybe the name 'reality' tv is doing a disservice - it's no more 'reality' than most other tv shows. It's simply using regular, non-actor people instead of a cast... I think they're so loosely based on anything 'real' in most cases - especially the shows that deliberately pit people against each other, or do things to inflame situations in order to create or add to the drama. Everyone wants their '15 minutes' and it seems that the best way to get noticed is to be obnoxious or 'out there' - and that's definitely teaching the wrong message. Kids need to know that there's more to life and much more important things in life. Some shows do a good job with this (Extreme Makeover Home Edition is a good example) - but many don't.
