Help - need very last minute, inexpensive gift ideas to get for our neighbors - 3 different houses. So new to this - first time we are in a house during holiday season and yes, I completely forgot.”
I know this is late but I gave..........homemade bread, with honey from a friend that has bees, some rum cake and applesauce cake. And homemade cranberry/orange vodka drink in jars I got from a thrift store.
I'm with Yes Mommy -- cookie mixes in a jar. I did that for my co-workers at school. They look nice, they cost very little, but they show that you cared enough to put together a little something special. I use Gifts in a Jar books for mine, but you can create your own with basic recipes.
We made cookie mixes in a jar for several people... also a plate of baked goods is alwas fabulous... afterall, the Holidays are about family, friends and food!
Homemade or edible gifts are always great. If you don't have time to bake or cook, Trader Joes is a good source of great edible gifts; they have a small, blue-and-white tins of stroopwaffles (I probably spelled that wrong, but they're delicious, delicate waffle cookies, sometimes sandwitched with caramel in themiddle) for less than $4 each. A tiny tin of cookies, and a box of tea or small container of cocoa, would be a much-appreciated neighborly gift.
