Thanks everyone -- I did get the wrist braces and have been wearing them. It seems to help a great deal which really surprises me! But whatever works!!
GET THE BRACES!! Wear them EVERY night. I've had small issues on and off (which suck when you do yoga) and it's from lifting and holding the kids. Plus, like AmyE, I sleep w/ curled wrists and it killed them. It took some time to get used to the braces but it helped so much. Now, whenever I think I'm getting issues, I slap those girls on at night and woohoo, no problems in the morning!
I had this in the very end of my first pregnancy. Make sure you don't sleep with your wrists curled (hands in fists) while you sleep. A couple of my friends slept with wrist guards. I found that running my hands under cold water while I was at work helped. I didn't get it with my second or third pregnancies.
I had something similar called De Quervain's Tendinosis from they way I was holding my son's head during breast feeding. I wore a brace and got some shots. I found that exercise keeps the pain away.
Oh, so feel for you. I got it years ago and wore a brace for years. It got better - but I still have to be very careful - I have to take frequent brakes when typing and make sure I am not bending my wrists too much. Is it really painful?
