I'm in India but work for an American firm. We get 22 days - i'm not sure how they worked that out. And 10 days of mandatory festival/national holidays. We often work on those days and get compensated later on. We can't carry over, either. The leftover leave gets encashed and also taxed! :-(
I had five days left over last year and I'd taken most days to be with my son as he underwent cryo and laser procedure on his eye twice last year. We haven't been on a vacation since October 2006! High time we planned something.
I earn 4 weeks and we are given the last week of the year off.. (christmas through new years). We can only carry over 2 weeks. I try to use at least 3 weeks per year with at least one week as a consecutive days
i earn 4 weeks per year but can carry up to 8 weeks - after i have 8 weeks i can't earn anymore so i make sure i use at least 2 weeks a year as 'vacation' and then the rest is used on 'mental health' days, doctor appointments, etc.
I have 10 weeks total, but I keep 6 weeks (240hrs) in the bank for emergencies and earn 4 new weeks per year. I take at least 4 weeks annually. If I don't use it, I lose it.
30 days per year plus all national/federal holidays. Love the vacation and I use most of those days. I am salivating as I think about my upcoming Colorado ski trip ... almost there Vail!
