Is Such Knowledge Transferable?
There is a male-know-it-all at my place of employment. Actually, he only seems to be a know-it-all when he is speaking to women.... Anyway, he actually tried to convince me that he worked in Special Ops and "they" gave him "all types of stuff" and because his wife is an O.R. Nurse, he knows enough to diagnose himself and write his own scrpits!
I commented that although I worked in laboratory medicine for 10 years prior to switching fields and working in business, I have NEVER seen a presecription for drugs written by a nurse. ”

I was fully aware that an O R nurse isn't supposed to be writing prescriptions-LOL! But the other info was helpful.
I have decided to keep my distance because it will be practically impossible to look at him without bursting into laughter at this point.
When he pumped up his knowledge about the subject of bacteria, viruses, and prescription medication on the basis that he was "Special Ops" in the Air Force and that his wife is an O R nurse, I asked him if he believe that that type of knowledge is transferable. He said "Oh yeah....definitely."
Using that line of logic, me or my hubby could become sexually intimate with an HVAC technician rather than pay the exorbitant diagnostic and repair fees when our heating / cooling system acts up. We could have saved a bundle when the washer went kaput if only we had thought of trying that strategy with a Sears repair person.
