At what age would you say that you started disciplining your child? How did you start?”

  • If you're looking for a very natural based way of seeing discipline, read "The Natural Child" by Jan Hunt. Truly, it helped me sooooooooooo much.

  • When they start hitting those terrible two's ! Lord they transform into energizer bunnys all of a sudden. When they understand mommy said no dont touch that, then it's time out . When you do discipline them just sit down and talk with them and let know why it is important to listen to mommy and daddy.

  • I started right when he started grabbing things. I used the big NO. I also had him cleaning his own room at about 3-4.

  • Well, I started using the beating room when the girls were about 5 or 6 months. KIDDING. No was used since they could crawl. Gently used, I should say (at least that's how I choose to remember it). I agree with Kate in that at 1.5 they can really understand cause and effect and you can work on teaching them to listen.

  • lol about 1.5! and usually with a time out for 1 minute in his chair and explaining why he was in time out and an hug when it's over. he seems to really 'get it' which, honestly, kind of shocked me!
