What traditions have you started with your kids? Not big ones, like Christmas or Thanksgiving, but just the little things didn't seem like a big deal at the time but now you and your kids really look forward to them? My son knows that on Wednesdays mommy makes muffins for breakfast for him and daddy. My husband says he wakes up in the morning asking for them! Also, every Tuesday we make a trip to the organic grocery store to buy fruit, and my son knows that he gets to pick out one new thing to try...a box of cereal, maybe a small carton of ice cream, stuff like that. He really looks forward to it!”

  • Chocolate Chip pancakes on Sundays.
Popcorn with a movie on Sat nights - no socks allowed- for feet wrestling.
when its raining, we all sing a certain song.
before showers, they get to streak naked through the house one time.
    other silly stuff too

  • We have lots of little things. Like I always juggle the oranges before slicing them. My 2 year old was quite upset one day when his papa cut the oranges without juggling!

My son also goes with his papa to the store every day and buys peanuts. When he finds money on the floor or anywhere else, he tells me that it´s for his peanuts and he can´t wait to go buy them!

  • Going to the park to feed the ducks. We have done this since they were little and at 12 and 6 they still love every minute of it. Pancakes on Sundays is also a biggie here.

  • The girls' favorite one is most definitely our hang out afternoons. Once a month, when I can fit it in, I take one girl out to lunch and then to run errands before we pick up sister. They love their one on one time.
Fridays are family movie time, we camp out on the living room floor and watch silly movies and eat popcorn.

  • These small traditions are my favorite ones! On Fridays I take the afternoon off and pick up my daughter from school. We go to the pet store, get cupcakes, and go to the bookstore or grocery shopping. The other day we had a bday party to go to, which turned out to be really fun. But my daughter told me later that she was upset we didn't get to do our Friday "things". :)
