In my own quest to find engaging activities for young children I created a free website www.productiveparenting.com that provides simple yet purposeful activities that build on one another to provide a great foundation for learning. Activities are updated daily specific to your child based on their age and provide ample ways to connect with your kids this summer!
My kids are too little also so they are not overscheduled and this is the time of year me and my husband both educators are also off so we try to travel but I can say this when we are home for a couple weeks my son goes a little nuts and needs activities since his little sister is too little to play with and it's really hot in arizona right now. So try to plan at least one activity that takes place at least three times a week for socializing purposes. Try your local park and recreation for affordable kid activities in your area.
Our kids are to little to do many organized sports, so they are not over scheduled.
They go to camp each day until 4p. 3yr and 4.5 yr old/
Then on the weekends we do various fun things as a family.
They are home each day from 4-9p playing and having fun with us.
