  • I am a childcare provider. Here's the stupidest thing I've ever said at an interview. They asked me about holidays. I started with my usual preamble about how, because of my experience and training, I take more than average. (Four weeks, if you're curious.) Dad says he's all in support of that, because time off is important, and we work too much in this country. "Well," I say. "I'm glad you feel that way, since YOU'LL be paying for them!!!" Hyuk, hyuk, hyuk, I am so funny... I'm moritified at the memory. And no, they did not sign on with me...

  • I'll go first b/c I have to share this one. In an email I requested the woman bring her references. She called to ask me if they should all come for the interview with her or did I want her to set up different times for them to come over. Um, I'm sorry, I won't be needing you to look after my children after all.
