How do you get new business? I get a lot by word of mouth, but am wondering where I should focus more effort to get new business - banner ads, search engine sponsored links, pay per click, just good old SEO, blog and forum comments, etc? What has worked well for you?”

Where can you connect with more people who share those characteristics--where have you successfully met clients so far? Professional associations, civic groups, trade associations--these can all be great, depending upon your market. If you're doing any business online, social media--content sharing sites, networking sites (Facebook, Linked In) , social bookmarking sites--can yield some good ROI.
If you go to www.optinetresources.com (that's our site), I have some articles on social networking under the business women tab (click on articles and resources).

    Hope this helps!

  • I am asking the same thing myself...I just started with Arbonne as a consultant. The normal method of communicating is through parties, but I work full time and spend most of my evenings...like every other mom...running kids to sports practices, dinner, laundry, bills...and yes - trying to spend time with my husband. I created an online store - http://www.purenature.myarbonne.com and added a shopping cart feature where visitors can get special discounts and purchase directly. my goal is to be accessible 24/7 without having the pressure of asking friends and family to host or attend parties. I have also dedicated a page to Community support where friends and family can send in information about fundraisers and charities important to them. Any suggestions on how to spread the word and visibility about my site?

  • I say keep it up, word of mouth is best business of all. Also business cards, go to networking events, business luncheons around your town. Maybe the BBB or Chamber of Commerce can help. Putting a party together for your freinds using your products. Don't throw up on people, lesson learned slowly by me. Check out Wild Women Networking Group, they are really good. Linked In, Facebook, other sites to help you get the word out.

    Hope that helps,

  • When I started my business, noone had heard of the products in my town! It was a little scary but fun to be the first to bring it to them! I grew my business one woman at a time. Starting with the people I knew first, then new people I met, through referals and word of mouth!
