  • Both times, I worked right up until the day I gave birth. With my first pregnancy, I was grouchy and cranky all day and couldn't figure out why, got home around 5, and realized that I was in labor by 7. The second time was a scheduled C-section (medical problems) so I knew when the baby was coming and worked up until the night before...

  • I was a police dispatcher at the time I gave birth. I'd sworn that they'd take me out in a blue and gray (State Police colors here) and the guys swore they'd deliver me on the radio consol. So, neither of us got our way - I went 3 weeks early, and ended up on maternity leave the day after she arrived. I never even planned to go out before she came.
