My daughter just turned 2. I have been introducing her to the potty for several months now. There are many mornings when she is dry so we go straight to the potty those mornings. I want to make the change but don't know when to make that last hurdle. I am really thinking that on Labor day weekend going diaper free the whole 3 days and see how it goes. So that is my plan.
Just a side note: I heard (I think on this site) a great tip for over night potty training. I was told to put a couple of layers on the bed (ie. Waterproof Mattress cover, sheet, waterproof mattress cover, sheet, etc.) so if there is an accident, you just pull on set off and there is a clean one ready to go!
My son started using the potty when he was 2.5, it was summer time and I started training him. He learned to use potty only within summer time and no more diaper at night, by the end of the summer. Once I saw dry diapers many days in the row after a night sleep, he stopped wearing them.
Now my daughter is 11 months, I wanted to train her early, (not using diapers do save a lot of money), but I don't that's going to happen, I will train her next year in the summer.
My daughter is 22 months and she will not use the potty - she is also "deathly afraid" of the grown up toilet. She is only now exposed to older kids (24-30 months) at school who use the potty so I am hoping this will make her more comfortable.
Depends what you mean by "use regularly." If you mean "clean, dry, and out of diapers," my kids were 17 mos and 19 mos. Day and night. They regularly used the potty long before that, but not exclusively.
My oldest is 2 and he has told me, "I no like potty. I like my diapers. No pee in potty." The younger one (15 months) is showing some interest, but that`s it. So, not much help from me, but I`m looking forward to seeing the answers. :)
