For the moms who work outside the home, how often do you have a date with your husband without children? I feel so guilty not seeing her 9 hours a day and then going out without her!”

We never go out without the kids. My oldest is 13 and we've gone out without him maybe 6 times. Now we have 3 kids. I have severe working mother guilt.

We at least try to go out on our anniversary and we have a game night every once in a while with a Meet-Up group, but dates are few & far between. We usually have some alone time while she's sleeping (our daughter is 7) so we can be "romantic" *wink-wink* if you know what I mean. We're a couple of fuddy-duddies anyway, we didn't go out much while we were dating (10 years ago) we mostly stayed in & watched movies - much like our lives today.

I so understand how you feel. Right now we just do date nights when we have family in town. By my family and my husbands live in other states. So when they visit we try to do a date night. I don't feel so guilty then since I know that my daughter is getting to spend time with her grandparents.

Date? What's that? We just went to the mall for a couple hours without our daughter Monday evening and I felt absolutely miserable. We both work full time as well, and I do love the alone time, but I hate being away from our daughter longer than work makes us anyways. We both have the weekends off so I'd rather do something on one of those days as opposed to a work day. It's definately difficult.

Once a month. My husband plays tournment paintball and once a month they compete out of town so I go. it's a nice overnight date night and me time while they compete. the Ipod and OK mag.

We do this after we drop her off in preschool. We try to get there a bit early, and that way we don't really get to work that late.

I am horrible about this -- and the guilt, oh, the guilt. For the first 2 years, we barely went out -- then we got better about it, because we both realized we needed alone time. What we often do is a breakfast date -- 1/2 hour to get coffee and some pastries at the local coffee shop and just hang out together. It's less time than a night date, no need for a sitter, and these are easier to schedule.
