  • Nope I work a job at a daycare for min wage and I make enough to pay my bills and thats including daycare. so i can spend as much time as possible with her. I could quit and leave her in dc to make more money but in the end when you make more you spend more so im just happy with spending time with her.

  • Since being laid off, I was lucky enough to land a great job that indeed does require travel.
It is more money than I was making, but that is not why I took the job.
I dreaded the travel at first, but after 6 months, Jetting away to a luxury hotel for 3 night clips every other month is growing on me :)
I think extensive travel isnt my thing, weeks at a time. Could never do that.
But short jaunts is working out great for us.
And we are not effected by the economy either.
so I consider myself blessed to have landed this position.

    to each their own.

  • No, I did make what I thought was a lot of money and it was too hard leaving my son and getting on a plane. Now, I only want to travel with my family. Maybe when my kids are bigger.

  • Would I make enough money to bring my family along? :)

Seriously, if I could travel, make a lot of money, and expose my kids to new places, you bet I would. If the money was good enough that my husband didn't have to work, why not? I've had friends that their families took a year off and just traveled around the US or Europe. It was amazing for them. I'd love to give that to my kids. They are getting old enough to appreciate the experience.

  • My first inclination is to say no. But I think it depends on the amount of travel and whether my family would benefit in the longer-run by my doing this for a period of time.

  • Not at this point in my life. My boys are still toddlers and I wouldn`t leave them even for a ton of money.

  • No. Money can't buy back the moments I would miss with my children. As the mother of an 18 year old, I know first hand that the time passes so quickly. I wouldn't want to look back and say I sold out my children for a bigger bank account.
