Nanny questions - We are going to let our Nanny go on Thursday. She has lost our confidence and while the boys are safe with her I no longer like her. We have had performance conversations so this won't come out of the blue for her. I feel mildly bad about the timing of this coming so close to the holidays, but I just don't want her in our lives anymore and I can't hold out another 3 weeks. My question is should we pay her severance? We will pay her for a full week, but should I give her partial weeks till the end of the year? My gut says no, but I'd love to hear what you've done or would do.
Thanks”

I think re payment question it really depends on how long she has been with you. I've let one nanny go and she was with us for over a year - I did pay her some severance.

I would pay her until the weeks end.
and I would give the kids ample time to say goodbye or to make her a going away present.
not sure of the situation, or their ages. just my .02
