Do leprechauns run amuck in your home? Santa, Easter Bunny & Tooth Fairy were all mainstays for me growing up but Leprechauns? I recall the first year my son was in school - he was upset that Lucky teh Leprechaun did not come to our house overnight and play his antics. Teachers really need to inform new parents of these things!! Safe to say that now Lucky DOES make a regular stop - this year he made a mess with strewn strins of gold, writing a message on my son's mirror and turing the eggs green! Has this become a tradition in your house?”

  • i love holidays and i love letting daughter in on the fun. kids always get a kick out that stuff so why not? and it's a good chance to teach about some history behind the holidays and some of your families traditions. like for instance, for st patricks day i fed my daughter green eggs and ham and dressed her in green clothes.

  • I hope it is b uilding fond memories for my son . . . I was fortunate growing up to have an WAHMand 2 grandmothers that lived with us 6 months out of th e year. My mom was not a great cook, by my standards now but she was & is a greak baker. She always made us a special birthday cake - characters etc. I try to think about the fond memories I have from my childhood, especially when I am pressed for time and would rather NOT do these silly things - he's the only one I 've got and he won;t be little long!

  • How cute- what a nice tradition you have added to your family. Sounds like your children are very lucky- your a good Mom. My children are all grown- except my 16 yr old. A few years back made green eggs and Ham- it was a nice surprise. My hubby still talks about it. But today just corn beef and cabbage will do.

  • This year our son started Kindergarten and they sent home a notice saying that they are making a trap at school to catch a Leprechaun and we should try to catch him at home,
So this year we did traps, and of course we had to MAKE bread to trap him, which was also sent home, the recipe.
    so we MADE soda bread.
Very sweet, but glad she sent home the notices and recipe.
We usually just leave a chocolate coin out for the kids.
They are making green eggs and ham at school today so he brought in the book too.
    busy morning.
    but adorable
