My ex-husband stole my identity while we were still married. I just found out about this last year. Currently, the issue may never be resolved. He actually took a copy of my handwritten signature, graphic magiced it on to credit card applications and went from there. I had a few of the items dropped successfully from my credit report, but others were refused. Once I found out about it, it took about 45 days to receive my report, lock my credit report down to all new credit, challenge the charges and have them reviewed and dropped (or not, in the case of some).
