On days that you are running insanely late leaving the house to get to work, do you skip any steps and if so what do you skip? Make up, hair, making lunch, eating breakfast? Just curious.”

  • Skip making lunch for myself as well as for the kiddies. For the kiddies, I always have some emergency lunch packs for these occasions that the teachers can heat and serve. For myself, I use that excuse to eat out with some coworkers. Then if we still need to make up some time, then the kiddies and I grab a yogurt drink for the car ride! I always get a great haircut that needs no styling in the morning!

  • Skip the making lunch part! Plus if you aren't crazy late - wetting your hair will reactivate the styling products already in it so you can still use the blowdryer and curling brush. If you are crazy late, do the ponytail!

  • shampoo. Only shampoo every other day , and then on the other days I wear my hair in a ponytail!

  • I would skip my hair....put a clip in my hair and go....I never leave home with out a little make-up on...I find that mineral make-up is quick and easy to put on....and I grab something to munch on if I'm going to miss breakfast...

  • I've skipped the shower on a REALLY late day but I have to do my hair at the very least. African-American hair doesn't do well without some support. I can sometimes skip the product but never the once through. If my daughter is the reason for lateness she's been known to skip breakfast (they have it at school) but it has to be an extreme reason because it can torpedo the rest of her day.

  • I am pretty low-maintenance myself, so there isn't much I can skip from my appx. 15-minute personal routine (I won't go to work without a shower). But my girls are learning that if they are too inefficient or do something that delays me, they won't get their hair primped, and they might have to leave part of their breakfast on the table. (They can have breakfast at school if it's not too late.) The hairbows are the last thing I do before we go out the door, and they really like to pick a bow matching their clothes, so this is somewhat of an incentive. But this is a work in process.

  • breakfast in the car. Also I keep granola bars in the car in case he doesnt eat the breakfast I make for him. I let him sleep in the shirt he is going to wear the next day. I can wrestle a tired toddler into underwear, pants and socks but shirts become a bigger battle. I skip most of the make up (never skip mascara and lipstick) skip blowdrying the hair. but to tell the truth if I know I am going to be 15-20 min late, I just bite the bullet, call it in and tell work I will be 30-40 min late, make up an excuse. I would rather do that then feel rushed the entire day, if I have a choice. an early morning meeting would nix that plan.
