The credit bureaus will help you if you are worried about checking on your children's credit. You can also place a fraud alert on their accounts. Start by contacting all three credit reporting agencies. www.equifax.comwww.transunion.comwww.experian.comrnrnYou are entitled to a free copy of your report each year from each agency. They may require a police report to obtain a childs report.
If you find anything adverse, dispute it right away. File a police report. Place an extended, 7 year fraud alert on the report, and send documentation to all three agencies to get the item removed. Pull the reports again in 3 months to make sure things are cleared up.
