My mom is amazing!

Written by DiannC

I consider my mom to be my best friend and advisor. She's the one I call on when I have troubles, both with my daughter and with life in general and I can always count on her to give me good advice. I am the oldest of 6 and I know sometimes she feels that she should have done some things differently, but I disagree. My memories of childhood include wonderful things like trips to the library (2 books and 1 movie each, that's it! :D), "field trips" to the ballet, "snow days" on warm spring days, reading aloud (Little House on the Prairie and Secret Garden come to mind.....) and baking bread. I know I can always count on her for anything, from celebrating a great (or minor) acomplishent to being there for me to cry to when things don't go the way I plan.

I recently found out that I have an autism spectrum disorder (aspergers syndrom) and I know that raising a child like me was likely to be a challange and I thank her for not only raising to that challange, but to rise above and raise a successful, well-rounded and happy person, who is now raising a wonderful little girl of her own. That is an incredible achievment and she should be proud.

I don't always express thing very well when I speak, but I want my mom to know how much I love her and how much she means to me and I can only hope that this little post does that.
