Zesty Lemon Squares

These sweet and tangy lemon bars are a classic and delicious dessert that everyone will enjoy. These simple bars are so easy to make and pair well with a dollop of whipped topping.Ingredients:

  • 1 C. margarine, softened
  • 1/2 C. + 1 1/2 C. sugar
  • 2 C. flour + 1/3 C. flour
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 1/2 lemons, juiced


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. In a Mixing bowl, combine margarine, 2 C. flour and 1/2 C. sugar and press the mixture into the bottom of an greased 9x13 inch pan.
  3. Bake for about 15 minutes or until firm and golden.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine together the remaining 1 1/2 C. sugar and 1/3 C. flour. Mix in the eggs and lemon juice and pour over the baked crust. 
  5. Bake lemon bars for another 20 minutes.
  6. Remove from oven and cool before cutting into squares.
